Logipad Electronic Flight Folder (EFF) Module

Briefing procedures based on best practices

Our Electronic Flight Folder (EFF) module is the right choice if you are looking for a customizable, flexible yet lean briefing solution. Based on best-practice flight procedures, the Logipad EFF is designed to provide pilots with flight-relevant briefing data in digital and thus paperless form. It is a major component of the comprehensive Logipad EFB solution and it is also available as a standalone application.

Correctly handling digital briefing data unlocks a high potential for optimizing processes and saving time, as well as for decreasingly the likelihood of potential errors. Even briefing updates sent at short notice before the flight can be provided directly onto a mobile device such as an Apple iPad. Logipad can be set up in a cloud-based environment as well as implemented on premises in the customer environment.

Process optimization through digitalization

Our solution is not just about replacing paper-based briefings; it is a matter of managing processes in an efficient way. We ensure that process steps are adhered to – not only for compliance reasons. For example, logic checks, data validation, and stored field conditions reduce the probability of incorrect entries. Role-based management helps to provide relevant data to the right users. It is even possible to set different permissions for each user role within a crew. Plus, completed briefings are signed with a user-based certificate (eSignature).

Logipad helps to automatize processes and supports the handling of briefings in the right way.

Customization and Flexibility: A Matter of Your definition

One of our strengths lies within our high degree of customization. It is essential for us to understand your specific use cases and individual requirements. In this way, Logipad fits into our customers’ existing processes and optimizes them, not the other way around.

ARINC 633-2 compliant

Logipad EFF uses briefing packets according to ARINC 633-2 standard. This means a flight planning system that supports this or an equivalent format must be used.

Structured as required

We align the look and structure of the Flight Folder with the operations manual and briefing definition provided by our customers. And there is no need to renew the whole application in case you want to modify the layout of the EFF view.

Data management

The management of your data can also be customized, such as fuel consumption data and the corresponding prices stored in the backend. The data can then be transferred to other systems, for example for fuel optimization.

Additional information

Every type of additional information can be collected via separate sections or self-built eForms.

Smart, Reliable, and EFF-icient.

Meets your requirements

The Electronic Flight Folder contains flight plans, NOTAMS, weather charts, and additional flight information, for example, and the structure can be adapted as required.

Facilitates communication processes

Logipad facilitates communication between the crew and ground staff and within the crew. Briefing data can even be exchanged between multiple devices.

Pilot-friendly operation

The pilot-friendly operation allows flight-relevant data such as fuel, weight, and time to be documented efficiently during the flight with just a few taps of a finger.

A focus on usability

Beyond the requirements of the ARINC standard, we place a high focus on usability in the further development of the user interface. For pilots, the easily accessible and clear structure of flight-relevant data is crucial. We have optimized the application for efficient usability so that pilots can focus on essential tasks and procedures. Logipad ensures a focused workflow with:

  • Input validation
  • Fast capture visual elements
  • Reduced interface

Content Management

The right content for the right users at the right time with 'Role-based Release Management'.

Our Electronic Flight Bag solution uses a staging model for releasing content. Before releasing content to the productive stage, a testing stage ensures the correctness of provided content. Regarding users and files ensures that specific users get relevant content only.

Confirmations

Operational authorities are able to mark documents as „to be confirmed“. These documents are grouped and displayed in a separate view. This enables quick access to prioritized documents and information. If a user confirms a document, the status is synchronized with the backend system.

Compliance Reports

Logipad tracks all document synchronization tasks and is informed about the current status. All information is stored in the backend system and is used to create compliance reports. Compliance reports can be adapted to corporate guidelines.

Testing Mode

A dedicated test mode for the flight open backend and the devices helps to reduce errors.

Validity / Expiration

A validity or expiration date can be assigned to documents. Depending on the configurable date, documents are visible or hidden to the user.

Many of the functions and details were established or adjusted based on direct feedback from the cockpit. You benefit indirectly from the experience of other airlines.
