Electronic Flight Bag Solution by Logipad.aero

Our Electronic Flight Folder module is not just about replacing paper-based briefings; it is a matter of managing flight briefing processes in an efficient way. Logipad delivers smooth data handling on board of an aircraft and facilitates the communication between the flight crew and flight operations or EFB administrators. It helps you to save work time and costs, as well as decrease potential mistakes. Small, medium-sized, and even large airlines can rely on a safe and secure solution.

Nowadays, a modern EFB is not just a self-sufficient application, it’s an application that integrates seamlessly with existing IT infrastructures. We adjust the look, structure and process to the demands of our customers. The eForms module allows you to collect individual data inputs in an intuitive way.

Key Features

We have used feedback from our customers to develop some key features that make working with Logipad a unique experience.

Device-to-Device Communication

What happens to the briefing when there is a shift change in the cockpit? With Device-to-Device communication, briefing data can be exchanged between devices in real-time even without internet. Different roles (captain, first officer) are taken into account with regard to the briefing handling, which complies regular cockpit procedures. Logipad automatically detects nearby pilot devices and establishes the best available connection to sync quickly, cellular or Wi-Fi when internet is available, or local networks such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Local Area Network, and Peer-to-Peer Wi-Fi in offline situations. This intelligent real-time background synchronization enables pilots to enter data on any connected device and have it instantly update across all synced devices without manual interaction. The Device-to-Device feature is available for iOS for up to seven devices.

Direct

Within the flight log, a new “DIRECT” function has been added. This enables pilots to select a start and endpoint for a direct route. The direct can be marked as a direct with ABEAM values for entering data for fuel and time values. Furthermore, additional “DIRECT” entries can be added.

Interoperability and the exchange of data

Our customers consider the simple integration of our application into their software environment to be an important selection criterion. In addition to connectors, we have developed easy-to-use functions to transfer data to other applications. To give just one example: pilots can transfer flight routes to Lido with just one click. In addition, our Logipad iPad app supports split-screen mode, which allows applications to be displayed side by side. Performance data from other applications can be imported into Logipad or vice versa. You can exchange data with other applications, provided this is supported by third-party vendors.

Security and compliance: Protected Access

Logipad supports OAuth authorization tokens. OAuth as an authorization method does not share password data but instead uses tokens to prove the user’s identity between the application and our services. This provides fast, standardized, and secure access every time you log in to Logipad. Additionally, the use of biometric authentication is available as an option. Both Face ID and Touch ID are supported for iOS devices.

Data economy: Priority Sync

Similar to the priority lane for VIP passengers, we prioritize data traffic for syncing briefing data. When synchronizing Logipad via pre-configured aircraft Wi-Fi networks, the briefing module can be assigned an exclusive priority for updating flight information. This optimizes synchronization processes if time needs to be saved or when the data traffic is limited.

Data economy: partial EFF updates

Our app supports partial updates of EFF packages according to ARINC-633 specification. A certain number of flights or more will generate large amounts of data. In order to avoid costly charges, we kilobytes while updating the briefing data.
